Description
Scone recipe -
mix and bake
Ingredients
| 2 | c | self raising flour |
| 1 | pn | salt |
| 2 | T | butter |
| 3⁄4 | c | milk |
Instructions
To make your scones, you will need
2 cups of self raising flour in a big bowl.
Put in a generous pinch of salt and 1 dessert spoon of icing sugar and mix together.
Now, lightly rub in with your fingers, 2 dessertspoons of butter into the dry mixture until it has disappeared into the flour.
This is where you put the sultanas in if you wish.
Chuck in ¾ cup of milk, and mix thoroughly into soft dough, take it out of the bowl and knead lightly on a floured board.
Then roll out to about 1" or 25mm thick.
Press out the round shapes.
Now bake in a hot oven 475F/230C for 12 to 15 minutes.
