Scone recipe - mix and bake

Ingredients

  • 2 c self raising flour
  • 1 pn salt
  • 2 T butter
  • 3⁄4 c milk

Instructions

To make your scones, you will need 2 cups of self raising flour in a big bowl. Put in a generous pinch of salt and 1 dessert spoon of icing sugar and mix together. Now, lightly rub in with your fingers, 2 dessertspoons of butter into the dry mixture until it has disappeared into the flour. This is where you put the sultanas in if you wish. Chuck in ¾ cup of milk, and mix thoroughly into soft dough, take it out of the bowl and knead lightly on a floured board. Then roll out to about 1" or 25mm thick. Press out the round shapes. Now bake in a hot oven 475F/230C for 12 to 15 minutes.
